Maeva Esteva is a visual artist (known mostly for her watercolour wildlife paintings) and a nature lover. Her strong connection to nature pushes her to spend lots of time in the forest and on the land. She has become a mushroom picker and guide in the Yukon and in the Arctic. She observes the land and its inhabitants in different ways and with her scientific background and artist's eyes she has learned about the mushrooms and their role in the forest. She has developed the knowledge and ability to identify them and has made them part of her business that came first from a deep passion.
