Anna Schmidt, Lovage Clinic

Anna Schmidt grew up south of Atlin, BC. Herbal medicine was part of her life growing up, and she began studying herbal medicine more formally in 2009. She has since invested well over 2000 hours in her herbal education, including clinical apprenticeships and formal medical herbalism training at Pacific Rim College. She currently works a day job in her other passion of land stewardship, while raising her son as a single parent, and keeping her passion for herbalism alive by supporting a small number of patients through her clinic.

Expert Talk - Herbs for Children: Troubleshooting Coughs and Colds

This workshop walks participants through general energetic manifestations of coughs and colds, and shares a materia medica of herbs that are safe for use in children. It illustrates how the basic medicinal actions of herbs can be applied to treat coughs and colds in children where symptoms are changing or persistent. The workshop will include breakout/individual work to develop a custom herbal formula. Participants will leave the workshop understanding how to support a child through a respiratory illness and with an enhanced ability to assess the right herb for the situation to create a custom formula.
